How To? Run w/no DPs

Because of the core exchange and the 70mile drive(one way), I heard I could drive without exhaust from the turbos back. This is illegal but dont want to shell out $$ and drive twice. Something about disconnecting the MAF. Can someone confirm this. It was also stated, by APR, that the O2s dont need relocating, just a new file on the ECU. Guess its just a gutted DP with no need of defoulers? Any way, this is a planned tax return project.....plenty of time to sort this out.

well apr can tune out you rear o2's but as far as i know its only for stg 3 tunes unless you can tune yourself than it wouldnt be a problem i could be wrong about that im a noob to audis so best of luck

You could run about 2 miles without dp's before you melted something. Look where the turbo's exit, you don't want 900 degree exhaust gas blowing there.

I would just have them shipped. For 70 miles, it shouldn't be to outrageous.

I melted a hole in a SAAB 900 gas tank from running without a full exhaust..not even a turbo..

lucky you didnt ignite anything.. yeah the turbos exit facing the rear of hte car, but they point directly at the car, not down. youd melt something for sure

The re-flashing eliminating rear O2s.....will I get CEL?

no. when you reflash to eliminate rear 02s the CEL won't come on because the 02 sensors are no longer in use. If you relocate the 02s or use defoulers then you won't need a reflash and your 02s will still be functional and serve their intended purpose. I'd just buy used piggies to save the time and effort. there are piggies and ssac DPs in the classifieds all the time for 100-150. Sell your stock DPs and have a local member help you with the install for some beer. I would imagine the shop is charging far more then $100 for this mod.

you dont need secondary o2's and you dont need the apr file to eliminate them. zip tie those ******s up to your transmission and drive with open dumps/down pipes. a lot of people do it this way, me being one of them. its not too loud outside but inside the car wow.. ear-rape

Ah! So the re-flashing wont add power, its only the flow that does? When I get the used ones I'll just do it myself.....There are no local Audi groups, but I like being alone. I want to head up to 2Bennett anyway to get race file and some parts, so we'll see if they re-flash for free so I dont have wires hanging around.
