    C5 A6 belly pan replacement/part number

Does anyone have the Audi part number for a belly pan for a 2.7 02 A6?

I've read that the VW W8 pan will fit the B5's. Does anyone know if this will also fit the C5 or if another VW pan will fit my car?

Can anyone recommend a good source for a pan? The cheapest I've seen is $130 from an online VW parts supplier.

I realize now what the Bentley service manual is missing - part numbers!!!

    Thanks,
    Ian

Thanks - I saw the listing on ECS but the price is a bit difficult to swallow. I'm thinking of taking my broken up pan to a VW dealership tomorrow to see if there's a W8 pan in stock that I can compare it to.

I'm sorry to say, but I don't think it will fit. Only the passat grill fits the C5, haha

Thanks. Do you happen to have the Audi part number so I can call my dealer and ask for a price? I know that they don't call it a belly pan; it'll save some confusion when I call.

The local VW dealer wants $180 for a W8 pan; I can get it for $99. If it doesn't fit, I think I can get it to fit. If Audi has jacked their prices up, I may go this route.

Ok, I just called my local dealer. The part number I was given is 4B0863821J. They wanted $190ish. Ouch.

Try some local salvage yards. The closer the better; save on shipping.

    Re: C5 A6 belly pan replacement/part number

Ok, just an update in case this helps someone else in the future:

The cheapest I found a new pan was in Poland, perhaps from the original equipment supplier. If I did the currency exchange correctly, it would have cost $25. I was about to order 10 at that price! After playing with google translate, the shipping was going to be $160 if I recall correctly. No surprise!

    http://www.rezaw-plast.pl/marka.2.19.96.0.lang.en.html

I'm not sure if I mentioned it earlier but busdepot.com wants $99 for the W8 pan. I was going to take a gamble to find out if it fits the C5 A6. I suspect that it will but I have no proof. While it would have been nice to find out, I found the pan for $130 at www.genuinevwaudiparts.com

If you click here, you can pull up the parts diagram and order the hardware to go with it. The hardware is cheap compared to what some others charge. After placing my order, I recieved an email stating that shipping would be $38 because of the size of the pan.

So, www.shokan.com was able to hook me up with a used pan for $75. I was told to expect some minor scuffing but no major cracks. Shipping was still high but I'm saving a good chunk of money. If this had not worked out, I was going to use www.car-part.com to search for a used pan. I wanted to stick with a vendor who caters to our community so I'm glad that shokan was able to hook me up. I'm still planning on ordering the hardware from genuinevwaudiparts.com.

Thanks for all of the ideas and suggestions. There are tons of threads on what to buy for a B5 but I didn't find much concerning a C5. I hope that this thread helps someone in the future.
