Double din??

hey guys,

i dont have a TT but my friend that has one wants to know if he can install a double din nav unit in his 04 TT? If so is there a write up?

No: a unit like a Avic (Pioneer- did I get that right?) will do, but the HVAC controls are in the binnacle below the single-DIN radio on a MkI TT.

You can do it but you either have to buy the kit (which is expensive) or make it custom..

I was wrong obviously, to the tune of 238 Euros! Like I said, what price Glory?

But it is evident that, like Smokey said, all it takes is cubic dollars. That is a complete new center binnacle, which would be the only viable way to make it happen. Nice piece, fershure.

i have one in my car which took me about 8-15 hrs to make. it is fairly simple if you are a fabricator. it looks like the piece you posted above. you have to get rid of the ashtray and get creative with mounting points and fiberglass/ fiber filler. I would say retail at a shop would be about $600+. Materials cost about $30 and your time is obvious. i fit a d3 in mine.

I am going to attempt making one in the not too distant future (if I quit being lazy). do you have pictures of your being made? pics of finished product?
