Easiest way to fix the front plate bracket holes?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I bought the s4 with the front plate on the car. It is illegal to not have one, but I never put one on my past cars. I just hate the way it looks on there. Can you get the whole trim piece prepainted from audi, and just pop it in? I also thought about having our body man at my work fix the holes, but i dont want the paint not to match or have him screw it up. Any thoughts? Thanks

You can get a filler piece from the dealer but it's going to be unpainted and cost around $90. You can paint it yourself. Silver should be fairly easy to match. There was someone on here recently that did it themselves and it turned out very good.
I'd look for a user filler though. Member on AZ hooked me up with his for super cheap.
Don't fix the holes. That piece is too thin. Besides it would probably cost you as much to get a new one.

When I got my car I had a plate, like you I hate front plates so I took it off. A few months later my bumper was being repainted so I took advantage and had a new filler plate put in... 2 months later... ticket :( I picked up the tow hook mount so at least it looks different but still wish I didn't have to have one.

Ya ive gotten stopped, and ticketed in the past. Im okay with spending 75 bucks on a non moving violation, and have my car look badass. Its weird tho, Id go months or years without an issue. Just depends on the towns here. Theres one town that Id go through with loud mufflers, and no front plate. Get a ticket each time. I havent had a car with a front plate for ten years, and I think I got a ticket four times tops.

Part number is 8E0 807 977. Maybe they didn't understand what you were asking for.
There is someone that sells them online but I can't remember who.

I tried filling them on my old car, didn't work great - started coming back after a few months.

I got mine from World Impex for around $75 shipped. OE, unpainted.

I used some color matched plugs. Cheaper alternative to buying the filler plate and having it painted. Here is a link.
