What's this thing connected to my front control arm?

So I was doing my oil change on Saturday and I found this thingy that was disconnected. Anyone know what it is/does?

Oh ok that makes sense! Are there supposed to be two? One for each side? Reason why I ask is I noticed one headlight low lately but didn't notice another one of these on the other LCA.

Just on the driver's side, and one on each side rear.

I only ask, because it's standard on cars with factory HID, and to my knowledge, US-spec non-S cars were halogen.
