Poly bushing for the OEM driveline stabilizer?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So... Does anyone make a poly bushing for the factory driveline stabilizer that is on the B6? The big thing that connects from each sub-frame mount to the bottom center of the trans?

I know they were not factory on the B5, they make aftermarket ones, and its a world of difference on the B5, but the B6 has it stock... just with a crappy rubber bushing... If someone offered an upgrade, that would be a fine addition to a snub mount!

    Anyone anyting?

i don't think so, but you can get upgraded motor, tranny and rear diff mounts.

on the trans mount, there are 3 bolts holding it to the frame on either side, one of the bolts also holds in the rear of the front subframe, there are bushings there

Here it is on a B5. Stock these cars have nothing. The B6 had these from the factory, just different looking, they were cast, and were curved upwards to clear the downpipes.

It makes a huge difference in driveline motion.... Though the bushing on the OEM B6 is quite soft and pliable. The B5 S4's made alot of TQ. There is alot of driveline motion... with the addition of one of these helps greatly.... I think if people were making alot more power from their B6's something like this would be in higher demand. Because in most cases on a B5, a snub mount was not enough.

That bushing doesn't do much. If you push on the transmission is still moves all over, but the stablilizer doesn't move. If that was a hard poly mount, the trans would barely move, allowing people to enjoy an INCREASED slop free driveline.

Maybe I'll make something. I'm gonna be RICH!

That looks to be a bit more low-profile than the one on the B6. If I had a thinner tranny brace I could lower my car more!

I wonder if the B5 brace would fit on a B6...

Anyone have any pictures of what that bushing looks like when you take it out of the brace? Maybe one of our wonderful vendors (*cough* WINSTON *cough*) will step up to the plate and make a new toy for our cars?

I dunno. I think I am going to buy a spare from the stealership, and have my brothers machine me something out of a poly or hard rubber.... see if we can get it to work.

Depending on the design of the bushing, you could also pump it full of polyurethane or something along those lines.

Anyone got a picture of what that bushing looks like?
