Post Is this normal for b6

I've been driving this for a couple of weeks and need some confirmation about how this thing operates. First off when steering driving slowly everything turns easy and as expected but at 55 it seems VERY stiff to me more than any car i've ever driven.
When in drive it seems to shift very quickly to 6th like in a middle of a turn it feels like its shifting 23 then when straight 456 and i'm only doing 35. Is this part of the adaptive shifting according to how its driven. If so a old lady must have been driving this thing before me. Is there a way to adjust it so it doesn't shift to 6th within 5sec of taking off. Seems to not go over 2000rpms. Now sport mode is a whole different level of Oh Sh!t now this is fun. I would just like it to rap out a little more before shifting. I live in the hills of wv and it feels a little sluggish when taking off and going up a steep grade. Now of course I can always leave it sport, but believe me i'm already having a hard enough time keeping my foot off the floor(12mpgAVG).

    Get your Vag com.

Go into the trans module and clear the codes even if there are none. This will reset the learn feature for the shift patterns.

But if you drive light throttle then the car will shift sooner then it would if you drove part throttle... If you still don't like how it learns try shifting it into tip for about 30miles

The trans wants to be in the highest gear for the best mileage.
If you don't have haters, then you're not kicking enough ass.

And lastly for the grammar police that are bound to step in
I came here from Germany in the 6th grade. I could not read or write a lick of English. I am working to get better. Thanks and sorry. I always try to edit my posts for the best grammar and easiest reading.

You're describing fairly normal behavior for a Tiptronic car. My 04' S4 shifted very quickly up to 6th gear. The transmission is programed to go to the most efficient gear as soon as possible.

If you have access to a VAG Com you can reset the adaptive learning as Justin indicated, if not, the car will eventually adapt to your driving style over time.

I always have to go against the grain its my way. In the parking lot at work there is about 150 trucks of which there are only 2 that i know of that aren't chevy or ford. One of them happens to be a VW jetta i'll let you guess what the other one is. Now they were fighting amongst themselves but now there is traitors and treason afoot i'm just waiting for the torches and pitch forks. Did I mention that I live in the red neck capitol of the world. Bring the pain
