2001 a4 1.8t car does not start

ya id say crank it for a while. get a small screwdriver, take the cap off the back of the fuel rail and press the pintle. some fuel should spray out. if not, first check fuse 28 (fuel pump). if thats ok, and you have no fuel in the rail, most likely a pump.

if you do have fuel pressure, try unplugging the maf as a HUGE vacuum leak will cause it to not run, but it should at least start for a second.

does the engine sound like it is freewheeling? no start could also be a broken/stripped timing belt, but that usually goes while you are driving. hope this helps. peace.
