    Misfires (Non Typical)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I figure I'll post in here seeing that my 01 has an 06A motor like B6's, while most B5'ers are 058.

This is going back on these threads. Please read prior.

Anyway just to go over what I have replaced.

    4 new coil packs
    Maf
    Front 02
Running virtually new F5DPOR Sidefires (They are pregapped) (Also tried BKRE6s and BKRE7's gapped at .028)
Replaced all rubber vacumm hosing, this baby is as tight as a whistle no boost leaks.
Both Stock and Chipped Ecu have the same issues.

    Thinking about:

Intake temperature sensor - Though bad IAT sensors causes serious cylinder retardation, and I'm not getting any crazy timing pulled.

Map sensor - Though symptoms aren't consistent with a bad map

I have the evap simplification mod, all evap BS removed.

    Suggestions?

If you have access to a five gas machine you can see what is going on and tell weather its mechanical or a ignition issue.

That will really break it down for you. Where are the misfires taking place... low, high, idle? sorry i havnt read your other post

They're generally under load. But on cold start-up when idle is held @ 1200rpm it misfires at that point as well for a good 5mins straight, sounds like a machine gun. (Exhaust is fairly loud haha) Once it warms up it happens when spooling for boost, they MOSTLY happen between 2000-3000rpm but they do happen in the upper rev band as well, just not as much.

On occasion it'll pull a multiple misfire code. But not as often as you think, the misfires are bad to the point where the CEL flashes.

I have a evap incorrect flow code (but that's from the evap system removed, and I had this misfire issue before I removed it.)

Replaced the fuel filter, though it was pretty clogged, it wasn't the problem causing the misfires. =/

Its not the fuel pump, has to be an injector issue, or compression issue.

I don't care anymore, the car is being stripped down for a BAT build today. I'll be replacing the fuel pump and injectors regardless.

hahah... yea shit is a nightmare. I didnt get a chance to read the other threads, but misfires can be a million things.

try getting a hold of a noid light to test the harness on the injectors itself.

    good luck brotha!

p.s whats in plan for the BAT build?

    Re: Misfires (Non Typical)

are you running a program that uses the MAF?

Multiple cylinder misfires can be attributed to a failing maf.

It would suck to go through all the trouble of a BAT then to uncover that it does the exact same thing.

    My bet is MAF.
