Anyone know where I can get side view mirror glass?

I had to replace my drivers mirror a while back & when I did I got that aspherical one that shows a wider angle & has a light blue tint. I really don't like it. Plus it doesn't match the glass on passenger side cause that has the smoked tint. Plus the edge doesnt have that nice black edging. Its just the glass edge. Where can I get an OEM style drivers side glass for a decent price? Ebay didn't have anything except the blue crap I have now..

Any ideas? Thx

The blue tinted mirror is not a crap. It just doesn't have auto-dimming feature which other has (with black trim around it). They come standart on all VW. As far as I know the only mirrors which come with wide angle and auto-dimming are ones from RS6. Plus, you didn't tell us what mirror size you have. If you have pre-facelift model, then your mirrors are different than the ones I told you about and the only option for you is a regular (without wide angle) mirror with auto-dimming feature, the same you have right now. I can be wrong but as I know Dealerships in Canada offer them for CAD400 + (for right hand side mirror), so $125 is not a bad price at all. My suggestion is ebay.de or ebay.co.uk. Good luck!

They are expensive any way you look at it. I was just looking into the same thing. Pass side is alot more expensive than drivers.

I would either do Shokan, used parts and talk them down on price. Believe it or not they are negotiable and I have gotten up to 50% off what they ask for initially.

I can get the auto dimming for about 80-100 drivers side.

The stock, smoked looking one? I also just remembered a junk yard near me has a C5 A6, I got my washer fluid res from them... Gonna call them to see how much they want too..

Yes, the auto dimming/heated is a smokish color.

Make sure to put a request into Shokan.

You could also look for side mirrors off of a B6 A4 - I got lucky and found a heated / dimming one eBay for $40-50. Good luck.

i have auto dimming glass, both sides. they are left over from when i put my OEM rs6 housing and glass in. they are sitting at home. let me know if you are interested.

+1 to Baraccuda, he is the one i bought my rs6 mirrors from and he installed them for me too. he knows his shit
