maryland license plate question and new pic

hey guys, after looking at vinnys new ultrasport thread, I have the itch to take off my front license plate, how strict are the cops around howard county and the outlying areas? I have a pretty stock ultrasport so I am not bound to attract too much attention. Happy holidays boys.

I moved up from FL a few years ago and only had one plate... I ended up going w/ a Skidplate from podi.ca so I can remove it as needed...highly recommended.

I thought about running only 1 plate, however, HoCo and MSP don't have much to do around where I live and feel like it would only be a matter of time before drawing attention to the situation. Good luck w/ your decision.

Ive been driving my Audi for about 1.5 years now without a front plate and haven't been hassled for it at all.

$55? Seems they've gotten stiffer with the fine. It used to be $25 iirc.

I've been running a euro tag on the front of mine with my MD license plate# on it - no hassles with it so far (knock on wood). Try getting a euro tag instead - i think you're more prone to being noticed without a tag in MD than you are with at least something on the front, even if it is a euro tag

i say take it off and see what happens. i've been rocking the eurotag like jeff, and again knock on wood but it's been good. I'm sure you can eat the $55 if you have to... and yeah it definitely used to be $25.

I wouldn't risk it. I know people getting pulled over on their way back from shows...had the license plate on the front seat! Still got a ticket.

i ran for 8 years with no front plate, got 3 tickets in 6 months. now the tag is on , on a custom mount i made down low on the front. if you happen to go to ocean city md you will get tickets for no plate quickly.

yea, don't F with the cops on that one. if they were lookin for an excuse to pull you over in the first place, that gives them their reason. easier just to put it on, and deal with it.

i guess i've been lucky thus far. I usually ditch my front plate for H20. Def gonna pick up a Skidplate (TM) when i get a new USP front ( the current one is BEAT!!!)

The previous owner had a euro front plate on the car when I bought it, and I haven't bothered changing it. I'm only outside of the city a couple times per week, though, so I'm sure that plays into it.

I did get a ticket for not having a front plate on my WRX, though. I'd been without one for the better part of a year, and got pulled over on 295. It was $65.
