    Very Low Vibration/Shuddering Sound???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Mainly in 4-6th gear when i floor it in low rpm's (under 3000) my car starts making a very low rumbling/shuddering sound. It's so powerful it can be mistaken for a subwoofer, and I really don't know what it could be. Bad motor mount? Please help me out with ideas guys!

I've always thought that was normal. Does it go away as the RPMs rise?

x2. i hope this thread is a joke... because this happens in practically every 4cyl manual tranny car that i've EVER DRIVEN. that's a lot of cars seeing as i do this in cars daily at work.

the volume and type of rattle/bass sound you get varies by car and whether it has an exhaust or not etc.. but it's always there. sometimes i play with it in my car and make it "hit" like a woofer when i'm bangin out the block.

im pretty sure my car "hums" in almost a perfect E

    Re: Very Low Vibration/Shuddering Sound???

It's normal. You're appling to much load for the RPM and it causes this as a result. Easy fix...downshift. Also do a search for "driveshft vibration"

    Re: Very Low Vibration/Shuddering Sound???

it isn't totally new, but i'm fairly sure it wasn't there for a little while after being chipped. it does go away as the rpm's rise. my only concern is that depending on the situation it will create a very powerful sound and unless i want to drive above 3K rpm's the entire time i'm in the mountains it will just do it over and over again for the two hour trip. as long as it isn't hurting anything then i'm not going to worry about it. oh and as far as the clutch goes i'm using an upgraded southbend so no issues there.
