can someone identify this tube?

I was reading the directions for my AWE boost gauge while looking through the engine bay just to see what needed to be done and i found a small rubber hose that was not attached to anything behind the firewall. I was hoping you guys may be able to identify it or maybe tell me what it should be attached to. I can't really see where it goes, so I'm clueless. Here's a few pictures.

oh, and it looks similar to the tube AWE gave me to hook up the boost gauge, but a little bit larger. From what i can tell, it doesn't run over toward the ECU where the boost gauge tube would come out of, so I don't think it was a boost gauge previously hooked up by the previous owner (plus, there's no holes in the vent).

Should be on the side of the factory battery, yes.
