    what do you all think?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I will be gutting my downpipes next weekend. My vag com is showing a code for one of my primary o2 sensors. I will obviously be changing that one. Do you think i should do both of the primary o2's? I would like to save the money and only do the intermittent one but....... Any advice would be appreciated.
    Happy Holidays

Re: what do you all think?

I've read some DIY's that talk of relocating O2's. And others using defoulers. Obviously i would like to not have to relocate the bungs. Anyone have any luck with the defoulers? or any possible problems either way? thanks

Re: what do you all think?

i would relocate seeing you would have the pipes off, its a sure fire way of not getting a code. (not that expensive to drill a hole and have a shop weld it in).

Spark plug defoulers do work but they can be hit or miss, the ones vast sells are available at autozone or online at a fraction of the price. I know people who have intermittent CEL with defoulers.

You can also have the CEL coded out by your chip software, eg. apr 2+ file, SSP and others can do that.

    I have relocated o2 bungs

Re: what do you all think?

Personally, id go ahead and replace both primaries and relocate the secondaries to behind the cats. There have been atleast 10 people on here the past 3-4 months that complain about codes with anti-foulers. Unless your secondary cats are FUBAR you wont get any codes, and the ecu wont keep getting erratic signals...and i doubt the cats are bad since Audi uses Leistritz cats which are amazing. Its better to do things right the first time, that way youll have the peace of mind knowing that everything is good. Not to mention how bad it would suck to have to take it all out and redo it.

I relocated my 02 bungs and im glad i did. Ive had to do it to two of my friends cars as well because anti-foulers werent working. If you were close id tell you to bring them by and id weld them in for you. It only takes 10-15min to drill the holes and weld in the bungs, and i have a bunch of bungs because im always having to do this for friends lol
