Currys Auto = Epic dissapointment

Needless to say, the only time they have ever tried to actually provide customer service for me is when i spent 700$. After that, they have continuously failed to provide any customer support or even communication in resolving an issue with the flashloader I bought from them which has since failed to work.

First encounter was for a dyno run on my audi. when i arrived i was kept waiting for 2 hours while they dealt with a tech that didn't even want to be there let alone run a dyno. Everyone has a bad day, but don't take it out on me asshole. They then had someone else run the dyno, that was blatantly a little under experienced on how to operate it. Those dyno #'s i'm not too sure can really count particularly since there was 1 fan blowing on my ac condenser and that was it.

When the car was detonating, i got bounced around on the phone for days before i could talk to someone at one of their locations who knew nothing about GIAC, and even then wouldnt agree to see the car without me taking it somewhere else first? Tragic failure on supporting their work and product.

The next issue is when my flashloader stopped working... 2 and a half months ago. Drove all the way to the dulles location to get it replaced under warranty only to find out they dont have another flashloader like they said on the phone. They placed the order with AWE if i recall correctly... 2 months ago. Since then, they have changed locations from Dulles to Gainesville and have seemed to have lost the flashloader. This is a small cable that could have been sent directly to my home address at any point during this process. Ive sent emails inquiring about it that have been ignored. And have contacted GIAC directly regarding this. This is poor service, and I dont think I will ever spend another dollar at Currys auto.

Now my car is due in for service and i have to wait until i get another flashloader to put the car in stock mode.
IF ANYONE HAS A GIAC FLASHLOADER that works, may i borrow it to put the car back to stock?

In closure, Induktion motorsports will be receiving the vast majority of my business from now on, and I regret not taking the car to them for the GIAC tune and other service originally.

i believe u can download software to use a vag cable and a laptop to change the tune. i would give awe a call and see if u can get a hold of that. should be free.

sorry man. i've been to Currys in falls church and was always treated really well. in fact, probably the best auto related customer service i've experienced. sent my friend their for mods on his GTI and they were really good to him too.

The only Curry's you should take your car 2 is the one in Falls Church, I long time ago i was taking mine to the Curry's in Ashburn and they suck ass, Installed the wrong software when i got chipped the first time and i had to wait 2 weeks cause the guy that does software was on vacation. So i had 2 weeks of no boost, i gave them one more shot. i took my dad over there just to talk to the Mech. and he told them he wanted to do the Z06 conversion on LS1 camaro. They said they could do the work, 2300.00 dollars later my dad had to go somewhere else and get it fixed because shit was leaking through the intake Manifold and the Mech said it's suppose to sound like that....WTF

i can attest that curry's in chantilly is retarded. i seriously doubt they have any knowledge in terms of GIAC chipping.

the guy try to tell me that they had to charge me an hour labor instead a half hour to chip it because if they lost the internet connection, they would have to start over.

i understand making money. at least if you're going to charge someone for something, know what you're talking about.

are you serious? If they are live streaming the file onto the ecu, they are risking SERIOUS issues. Im sure weve all encountered "corrupted" downloads... well an ECU doesnt exactly have a tcp redundancy check on it. If a packet got lost or something...wow. I thought the giac file was downloaded to the computer, which does have the tcp port redundancy check (makes sure 100% data integrity) THEN transfers via usb-obdII to the ecu. thats crazy...

but ANYWAY, i just want a working flashloader :)

They have a nice shop, There over in sterling and deal with alot of high ends, and there alittle expensive in my opinion.

that is the way they do it. they don't stream the file strait to your ecu. but they always check for an updated file version before they flash a car, so if internet is down they can't check.

I know lots of people say lots of nice things about Induktion. I took my car there for a routine oil change to try them out and I have to say I was underwhelmed. They weren't very enthusiastic about my car, so I didn't leave with the feeling of wanting to come back. The tech who pulled my car into the shop stalled it three times!



Don't get me wrong...I'm sure they are very nice people and very capable. They just didn't show much interest in my car, which put me off. Maybe it was an off day or something...which everyone is entitled to now and again.

I took a drive up to RAI Motorsport recently (again a routine service just to check them out) and was very pleased with the service and relaxed atmosphere. I also use NGP in Lorton, and Autoy & Autowerke in Rockville.
