Any body have any idea out to thoroughly remove the glove box lock cylinder and perhaps detach the glove box LID from the rest of the housing?

(I cannot seem to pull the pins out of the hinge)

    Thanks

its super easy.. just open the glove box and take out the one screw on the drivers side of the glove box... the whole assembly comes out

I took that screw out and tugged like hell on the latch and got nothing.

Its not like it was about to come out or something....it felt and looked like that screw made no difference whatsoever

The only thing that would make sense, is for the whole black vover (the one behind the actual door) to be pulled off. But it seams like it is physically attatched to the door and will rip if I try to take it off.

Re: Removing glove box lock cylinder and components.

random.. dont know if you ever got this... but i just took mine off again

you literally just remove the one small torx screw on the inside edge of the drivers side of the glove box

then to remove the handle, dont pull on the handle as if you are opening the glovebox door... instead just take a small flathead screwdrive and pry the handle on the edge where the lock is located... it pops right off

if you yank from the physical handle (like you were opening the glove box), it iwll not come off

Hi, there. I am realy new to this but I have been trying following the directions above. I know it's an old thread but it helped to a point. I am afraid to break my handle. Did anyone have any success on this. Like absolutegtr I have had no success.

    Anyone?

Hey there, don't worry. I did some bashing and got it out, now to solve the other matter.
