Hey guys, its been a long time since I last posted on here but the Mod Bug is itching again! I wanted to know if any of you have a K04'd b6 with the ATP downpipe from EuroCode? if so, did it make a big difference? How did it affect the drive/sound/acceleration etc.? and overall is it a good mod to go with or should I save my money for something else more worthwhile? any input is great!

    Re: K04 + Downpipe?

    Not everyone...

I very much enjoy my 2004 A4 USP K04 Quattro!

Its my daily driver, so I dont really need "MAD" power just to get back & forth to work or to get groceries...

Plus where I live, my car gets inspected every year by the state!

IMO, my "properly-equipped" K04(HFC+FMIC+Thermal Exhaust+Neuspeed TIP) generates plenty of usable power!

Too many people install a K04, on a bone stock car, stock exhaust, stock intercooler, and wonder where's the power...

    Re: K04 + Downpipe?

i can pretty much agree with Miktip on this one. I have a K04 and it is just right for my daily driver. Seeing as i use the car at sea level and at altitude you need to find a all purpose solution. For me the K04 works out great.

As far as the testpipe it will help, but i ended up adding a HFC down steam to keep things emmision legal so i probably lost 1/2 of what the testpipe added. But oh well. I went with the ER testpipe since it was the best quality avaliable. I added the HFC mid way between the testpipe and the resonators that are part of my exhaust. The HFC will eliminate some of the raspyness that the testpipe adds.

    Re: K04 + Downpipe?

it sounds like he already had the K04. if you don't have to deal with emissions inspection in your state then go for it, it's a pretty low cost mod.

Problem with your setup is that the K04's TQ spike is bad for the tiptronic (wouldn't thinking about it on a CVT).

    Re: K04 + Downpipe?

I've got a milltek downpipe and a ported and polished OEM manifold along with my K04. It's hard to say if any one component is the best, because I changed the manifold and turbo on right after I did the exhaust. I've been considering getting a high flow cat. this summer, but we'll see how that goes.

    Re: K04 + Downpipe?

I installed the KO4, TP, injectors, and Revo Stage 2 all at the same time. So i couldn't tell you how much of a difference the TP (034 Test Pipe) made. But all together the car is alot more fun to drive! Just need the FMIC! Hopefully soon.

Same here had tp and k04 all installed at same time it is a nice combo.
yes its makes noise but it a great sound and for me k04 gives me enough power to have fun for the 30-60 seconds of space that i get on our crowded LA fwy's.

    Re: K04 + Downpipe?

put the EC testpipe and it does make a difference, as far as quicker spool and llittle more pull definetly worth it if you don't have to deal with inspections.
