You get what you pay for, esp. with tires. Although the brdigestones are better quality, I dont think the price difference is enough to justify them. I heard alot of good things about Nittos from friends, also Toyos seem to be a fav around. T1-R s are good, I have the Proxes 4 to deal with the winters on the East Coast...

With a treadwear of 200 those things will be worn down before you can mount them.

HAHA very true Ed, but the Re-01R's have a tread wear of 180 soo its not like i was working with much to begin with.

This, just like all extreme summer performance tires, sacrifice tread wear for DRY GRIP, due to their almost gooey compound.

Those are good street tires, but they will chunk/become extremely greasy when used to auto-x or track.

The Re-01R's are on a completely different playing field.

Good to finally see you posting again

    Hope all is well,

At $300 a pop for the RE-01R they better be g-dly!

The T1-R's are a great tire for the occational canyon run or spirited DD.

Bridgestones and Michelins are the best tires.....period. You cant go wrong with either. I have the Potenzas RE-050 and you would not believe the control, traction, comfort, etc.....just the way the car feels....is worth it. And being in the automotive business.....I can say very very few tires out there can even come close to a great set of bridgestones or michelins.

^^x2 with the Bridgestones! I thought my F1s were good...these are waayyyy better! Also, I know you tend to run a 245/35 like me, so watch the width of the Nittos, Dr. Quattro had a huge problem with those rubbing and it slit the sidewall. Either way good luck with the tires B
