Flashing CEL

Here in Chicago we currently have lots of melting snow and dense fog. so tonight i was driving my friend home when i went through a huge puddle. it was probably about 5 inches deep and the water was everywhere. after i pass through it, my CEL starts to flash and i cant get the esp light to turn off. i pull the car over and shut it off for a few minutes. when i started it back up it was vibrating and the esp light was still on but the CEL was off. when i revved the engine the rpm's go up freely but when the rpm's start to fall, they dip into the 400 rpm range as if it is about to die but it doesnt. i look under the hood of the car and checked the air filter to see if it got wet but it was bone dry. any idea what happened to me? the esp light turned off after about 5 miles of driving.

B6 A4 1.8T's should come equiped with a spare 4 pack of coilpacks in the trunk when they are delivered by the dealer. A nice little 'how to replace your coilpack' brochure would be nice for new owners also.

^ ha ha... thats true... but not from the Dealership's view... they charge like $250 to change 2 coilpacks.

The filter may felt dry but it doesn't take much water getting sucked into your intake tract to make the car stumble. How is the car running now?

maybe one of the sensors flooded

sorr for the late responses but everything is perfectly fine now. i think maybe something got wet that shouldnt get wet and it caused the computer to freak out.
