NGK BKR7E's especially in warm weather. Change them about every 5000 miles and you can't go wrong. Plus they are only 1.99 a piece.

Re: what spark plugs to use?

i run bkr6e's. change them every 5k while i'm waiting for oil to drain. cheap, simple.

i'm also stock in terms of power mods, so i don't really bother going a step colder. i might try it out in summer.

Good choice, just make sure you get the NGK7E-8 (gap .032) and not the NGK7E-11 (gap .044) used on the 3.0L.

they've been discontinued, their replacements are a bit shorter in pitch, making them not as ideal to use.

4644 is the new NGK part number.

Bosch sidefires are a good replacement for the bkr7e's, they're more expensive, at 16$ a pop, but they last *much* longer.

You can't gap the sidefires, since the electrode fires to the "side" instead of from top-bottom. Their normal gap is pretty good for our cars anyway, I think it's .3 or something, mabye smaller.

Sidefires are special order items, you won't find them at your local auto parts store.

as far as anyone knows the discontinuing of the plugs was recent, they're a cheap plug and probaly stocked at many locations, and because their reccomended list of cars to be used for is volvo's and aston martins.. the remaining stock should take a few months to deplete at the least I would think.

Well, what I've got is a v-power ngk bkr6e's, i put em in gap em to .28 and saw my mpg go down from 25 to 20. And my idle is a little rough, should i factory gap em to .32?
    thanks

You have these now? I have an 04 3.0L V6 Ultrasport...wondering if these would be an improvement to the stock plugs?

the 7 series work well in chiped cars because the colder spark helps in combustion with the increased combustion temps, since you have a v6 it will run worse since there's no noticable increase in combustion temperature

Re: what spark plugs to use?

just tried the ngk platinum gapped to .28, very happy with them, car they are on has K04, GIAC and 380cc inj. micer idle than the ngk copper...so far and only a buck or 2 more, now to see how it holds up in the winter cold!
