So early this morning it was very, very icy here in Chicago. I made it to work safely but... the parking lot had not been cleaned at all, I ended up trying to make a right turn and all I did was slide forward into a pile of frozen snow...

I wanna know if this can be fixed or should I just look for a new bumper?

bring it to a shop see if they cant plastic weld thse spots to get it back like new. if not you'll need another

The thing flew straight into a dang truck!

It will be a major PITA to plastic weld that and get it looking perfect. If it was only broken in one spot it wouldnt be bad, but since its broken in numerous places itll be almost impossible to get it looking right. Even if the person can get it lined up right itll probably be wavy after hes done. It might end up being easier to go ahead and buy a used bumper and have it painted.

You doing this out of pocket or are you gonna file an insurance claim? Either way, good luck on getting it fixed!

Yeah I will be doing this out of my own pocket. I'll visit some shops and see what they tell me, but eventually I might just buy a used s4 bumper. I thought about the rs4 bumper but the oem is too much money for me to be blowing on a bumper IMO. Anyways thanks for the advice.

I agree about the rs4 being too expensive for just a bumper. When you add the cost of making it fit it goes from crazy to insane lol

When you go to a shop make sure they arent gonna fix it with fiberglass. It will never look right and will most likely end up cracking again. If they can plasti-weld it and use a little filler to get it looking right then that will probably be the cheapest solution. Just try to find a really good body shop. It might be a little more expensive, but itll be worth it when its all said and done.

Yeah I asked the local AZers about good body shops and good back a few results so I'll be visiting those places. Alright fiberglass = don't do it. Plasti-weld is the way to go.

it can we repaired, I was quoted $400 for a repair +paint by one place, everyone else said they wanted to see it to asses repair-ability first.

Dude, GL getting that thing repaired PROPERLY, mine is a little worse off than your's, but we both have a crack at the bottom and the thin piece of plastic that goes between our side and middle grill.

Also, this is the exact and only reason I bought a beater DD. I kept either getting hit or slidding into a snow bank come winter time and am sick of buying a new damn bumper every winter season!!



Bumper is cracked all along the bottom circled, same spot as yours inbetween the middle and side grill, the middle bar in the middle grill is cracked badily and I have a crack on the far side under the driver's side headlight.......

lol what happened with the DD? I won't be able to get a DD for this year, but for next year, for sure. Where did you find the best deal for a new OEM front bumper? I'll most likely buy a used one but I just want to know what the cheapest is for a new one. But that sucks man, sorry to hear.

That would be my boss... The bank doesn't open till 9 in the morning but I work there early so I was there at 6:45 and it was just horrible. Couldn't even walk without grabbing on to something. I don't know...
