    Quick ? on spacers

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just got 20mm for the rears and 10mm for the front, have yet to put on. Waiting for warmer weather. But are they too much for 17x7.5 wheels with 235x45x17 tires? On sport suspension===2003 B6 Avant TQM

    Re: Quick ? on spacers

20mm may be too much--- you might see some fender rub. Plus, hopefully the 20mm spacers actually bolt onto the rotor/hub, then a separate set of bolts, mounts the wheel to the spacer.

    Re: Quick ? on spacers

that's the biggest concern I see is rubbing the fendering. I have seen cars with 20mm rear spacers where it did rub, damaging the metal & of course, paint.

Rolling the fender won't solve it, more like getting some extra negative camber to make it clears when the suspension is compressed.

    also quick tip:
Antiseize both sides of the spacer.

    Re: Quick ? on spacers

with those spacers you 'might' have slight rubbing under hard cornering but it will really depend on how wide your particular tire runs. Some people will be fine with other will rub a little. You won't know till you try.

Well if you do plan on running 7.5" +15 in the back with 20mm spacers then it will be sticking out 10mm more then our 8.5" +38 wheels we usually do with 235's. Your definitely going to need to roll your fenders a lot.
