Using an ipod touch in the glove box

I've got an '08 A4 w/ the factory spot for ipod integration. My wife bought me a touch for Christmas and I don't seem to have the proper adapter for it. I used a friends nano which fit in one of the little plastic adapters before but the touch is too wide.

Anyone know if they make one for the touch? I've searched this forum, googled everywhere and cannot find any info.

    Thanks.

Re: Using an ipod touch in the glove box

I've never seen these adapters myself (although I'm interested in getting one for myself), but I do work with electronics a lot. I've come across some ipod adapters that work for the nano's and appear to not work for the larger ipods, but they do, you just have to remove the a clip part. I dunno how else to explain it. Basically investigate your adapter, and see if there isn't something you can take off of the adapter to enable it to work with larger ipods. I have a feeling that's the solution.

Thanks. I just don't want to put any weird forces on the connector and cause damage to the ipod. When the weather gets better I'll mess with it.

I don't know if they're the same but I have a 2008 S4 Avant with the factory iPod glove box connection and my iPod touch and Nano both work fine. Did you get that little bag of different adapters for the connector? Different iPods need different support adapters to hold them.

I have a first gen ipod touch and it just slides right in without an adapter.

Re: Using an ipod touch in the glove box

I got it in. I used the flat piece with the stock opening.
I will say the reviews I've read are accurate. There is no song ID
    or playlists which stinks.

I've got an SD card ready to load some music on so hopefully that
will eliminate the need for the ipod. I've read that you can categorize
your music better through them anyway.

    Thanks again for the suggestions.
