Found insane deal... But.......

I found a 2004 S4 6 speed with 40K miles on it for 13K.

But...... The guy says quote on quote "engine needs a new head because the cam shaft, roller, and rocker are badly worn"...

What do you think?

It sounds like he beat on the car a lot. Get others opinions before you act though.

So pretty much needs a new motor plus a whole slew of things, = 7k for a used motor + whatver else the car needs = stay away

I saw it a few days ago and thought about buying it.....for about 2 seconds. If the car was beat on like that you have no idea how many other problems may be lurking. You're best bet would be to just wait it out and find a good price on a good car. They're only going to get cheaper, anyway, with the B8s coming out and the economy the way it is

Out of warranty by time most likely. Anyway def pass on this piece, who knows what else it needs. Get another 5gs and find one thats in good shape, might even get a warranty too. My friend just bought a B5 stage 3 S4, and put 3000 in repairs in 2 mos plus 1700 for timing belt, fluid flushes etc. Id recommend a B6, esp if you dont wanna throw tons and tons of money at it. Besides one thats built scares me, its got alot of power, and if theyre modifiying it that extensively, there s no way they're babying the car. Its built like that for a reason! Buy a stock one and build it yourself you know? Or buy a stock one and put it in a bubble, bc I think factory fresh B5s are gonna be worht money someday
