    chrome grille trim removal. need help

    Can someone please explain to me how you get the chrome trim around the grille off. It seems really fragile, i would greatly appreciate it if someone can explain to me how its connected. What i want to do is get it off so i can take it to the shop to be painted. sorry if something like this has been posted but i looked everywhere and found nothing. merry christmas.

    these parts are not easily split. any decent body shop could mask this and paint it as is.

    Take the bumper off..Take the grill out...and have the whole thing painted

    ^ yep, you do have to remove bumper, another helpful tip is be very careful with the tabs, they crack and break off pretty easily.

    As everyone else has mentioned at this point, you have to remove the bumper. Once you get the grill off the bumper, its not too difficult.

    It takes about half hour to take off the trip and 5 minutes to put back on. You just have to be careful and go slowly. use a small flathead screwdriver to help you pop the tabs out of the holes.

    I had to do it this past summer. I bought an RS4 grill (with black trim), but wanted the chrome trim from the s-line grill.
