Just did my timing belt......now i have a little problem

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
so i did my timing belt 2 days ago, but now for some reason when my car is cold in the morning my AC fan turns on for no reason. I have the heat on in the car, but the ac fan is on. It stays on for about 5 minutes or so and then it turns off. Anyone have idea what this could be. Did my mechanic forget to connect something or connected something wrong. Also if my fan turns on is there any way that the AC could be on all the time while im driving, thus burning more gas, and less power, cause i think i noticed a little less power today while driving
    any thoughts?

Okay your paranoid. the ac runs year round to help with climate control in the car and keeping the system from freezing. you really don't have anything to worry about. Both my fans run sometimes and its just what it is supposed to do. Plus I really don't think you are going to be able to notice the power difference between non-ac and ac running while driving because it is so minor.

could be a sign of the coolant temp sensor going bad.

^^if not the coolant temp sensor (change 1st, upper and lower) it could be the thermostat. I changed the upper and thermostat and my car just started doing the same thing again. The only one left is the lower temp sensor.

How in the heck could a thermostat cause the ac fan to run? He has the heat on and the ac fan is running just like it is supposed too. EVEN with the heat on the ac fan/compressor will run even if it is 10 below. There is nothing wrong with his car.

Re: Just did my timing belt......now i have a little problem

several weeks ago, i had my timing belt service done and everything was done correctly, the cooling fans would kick on right when i would start my car but they shouldn't have since it was 25 degrees outside. the cooling fans kicking in at start happened to me before and i had a cel and it was for my cooling temp sensor which was replaced a week prior to the timing belt service. After a day and a half it was like the computer realized everything was alright and the fans stopped turning on at the start. I think it has something to do with when you first start the car after they put you car back together and have to "burp" the cooling system. The computer may see a problem with the coolant levels at first or there is a air pocket in the system and the computer kicks on the fans. give it a day or so and see if it still does it.

yo, when you pull the front end off, you might have disconnected a yellow clip for the fan, reconnect it
