04 s4 not starting? fuel pump relay?

i have a 2004 audi s4. recently it sometimes doesnt not start, it cranks but it doesnt get enough fuel to the engine and either starts and dies or doesnt start. i took it to a local dealership who diagnosed a bad fuel pump. i replaced the fuel pump and still it doesnt start. i connected the old pump to the battery and it works so i dont think that was the actual problem. i have identified that the fuel pump works but there is no fuel or not enough fuel getting to the engine. i believe the fuel pump relay might be the problem. but i cannot locate the relay. can someone help me diagnose this problem or at least locate the fuel pump relay? thanks

Or fuel filter.. sorry lost my Bentley.

definitly check your fuel filter, according to the tech at audi, the fuel filter in our cars house the fuel pressure regulater as well, if something goes bad in the filter, it can cause low fuel pressure.

I would defiantly change the fuel filter. Get it from your dealer as there are a few kinds. They can take your vin and get the right one for your car. Pretty simple to replace, see this walkthrough (its for an A4 but was still applies).

Just push the clips IN on the line connectors and they pop off. Have fun
