Any one know, or have thoughts, about whether the bell housings are the same on a 3.0 and a 2.7T. im considering swapping a 2.7 into a A4 3.0. And wants to know what physically is different between the two(aside from the obvious, wiring, plumbing ect.) the biggest reason im wanting to know is i bought the car for $600 im an ase certified tech havent messed with audis alot but the 3.0 broke a valve from someone not changing belt but neway ive see that the 2.7t are really reasonable compared to the $3000 or more 3.0 avk engines. i just want to know if the 2.7t will bolt up to the 3.0 tranny or if id have to do a complet swap here are some night pics
    Thanks, kris.

    Re: 3.0 avk to 2.7t

I don't know about 3.0 to 2.7t however a 1.8 swap has been done. ECU integration will be the largest hurdle. But if you're up for the challenge go for it. If you can get something together for less than 10k you might get some others interested as well. I can't remember who did the 2.7 swap successfully on a B6 but some searching should yield results.
