I think my MAF went out...

So all of a sudden part throttle acceleration suddenly became a big issue. It felt like it hit a brick wall trying to accelerate normally if I hit any boost at all. So After a quick check of connections everything seemed to work fine, full throttle showed that I was getting boost but it didnt run quite right. I unplugged the MAF and bam, I got my part throttle back.

So I decided I would try and clean it, and my dad told me to clean it off with a q tip. After light pressure on the side of the sensor, the sensor piece bent, and when I went to bend it back it broke off. It appears to me that this was the issue, it was just about to break off...

Does this sound like the right diagnosis to you guys? (I know I have to buy a MAF sensor... but could it be anything else?)

APR stage 3 with every supporting mod.

    Thanks!

Sounds about right. I mean, why would it be back to normal once you disconnected it? I think its safe to say that it is the MAF sensor. Next time i'd just clean the sensor with the spray.

You never want to touch the sensor, either use a spray or put the solution/sensor into a bag and let it soak. It is a sensor not your ear.

Well, good to know next time.

Is it really THAT delicate? I mean the adjacent piece was not nearly as fragile..

Well the sensor part is, it was only meant to take pressure on the front side and if you push it from the side there really isn't any support. Plus you dont want to touch it because you might just end up leaving something on the surface which will just make it worse.

ya its sounds like you went into limp mode. They sell MAF cleaner spray. i herd that it works wonders. i would try to clean it before you buy a new one it cant hurt.
