Just got K04's... have some questions?

Had some brand new K04's arrive a few weeks ago. Just had a chance to open the boxes today and noticed some things that seemed a little strange to me. First of all, one blade on the turbo wheel was a lot lighter, whitish silver color compared to the rest of the blades... It also appeared to be a different texture. I thought at first that the blade was chipped but after seeing it on both turbos... I figured that it was normal. I also noticed a decent sized dent in the turbo housing on the air outlet side. This was only on one of the turbos. Are these things supposed to be there? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I apologize ahead of time if these seem like retarded questions. I just wanted to make sure my $2k+ investment wasn't faulty.

Those appear to be rebuilt turbos...wait no they dont. I just looked at them closeup

they look fine, just remember when you install to remove and double check all the plugs, people have been notorious for leaving them in after install making plumes of smoke.

Also, make sure you prime the turbos correctly (check awe site for priming the turbos) and you will have a bit of smoke after install which should go away after the car has been running for about 5-10mins. Nothing to worry about just oil from shipping.

These are somethings that freaked me out when I went k04.

that dent is there on purpose. when u install the turbos you will realize why. if the dent wasn't there the turbo would hit the manifold. your welcome

as for the fin it looks fine, maybe some paint but that's all it is you will be fine

Alright thanks guys... Ya I figured the dent was there for fitment reasons. I just thought it was worth making sure. All I need now are the inlets.

the blade looks like it has some material taken out of it.. maybe for balancing purposes? almost looks like it was grinded..


the dent is normal too
