Did anyone know the rear headrest fit the front seats!?!?! I love the rear ones because they look like the GTi's seats, but until today when it dawned on me to try it, never thought it was possible... Unfortunatly the front ones dont fit the rear, so i need to find me an extra set for the front...

Anyone here have an extra pair of headrests??

    Re: Rear headrests

^^ Really! How do they match up in the back?? Does it look like it came like that from the factory?? Or do the front hrests in the back look awkward??

they look kind of awkward, but they do indeed fit. I just did this a few days ago and like the front, but dislike the back...

I wanted to get an extra set of rear headrests for the front as well....but seems kinda like a waste of money.

    Re: Rear headrests

yup, they fit fine in the rear. You have to unlatch the seats and then insert the headrest at an angle.

The problem now is getting the rear ones off the front seats -- I just can't seem to pull them out if I ever wanted to go back.

I like the look but I'm to tall : (

The back ones don't go up high enough for me.

    Re: Rear headrests

x4,5,6,7,8 fronts fit rears and they do look weird back there--guess it takes time to get used to it. other part is that the rears don't tilt like the fronts did for those of you that care

    Re: Rear headrests

I love having the rear headrests in the front. Probably my favorite free mod yet.

The front ones don't look terrible in the back.. I doubt anyone who didn't have this car would ever be able to tell, but if I came across a cheap set of rear headrests I'd buy them.. but wouldn't spend too much.

I snapped a pic today.. all my girlfriend's shit is in the back.. we're going to RI tomorrow

The ones at the top of the seat itself or the little button things on the rear headrests? Also how do I pull them out, pliers? Or will they just slide out?

The button on headrest is for the tilt function. The button on the seat is to adjust the height. Press and hold the button on the seat and pull them out.

Have you attempted to remove them yet lol? Definitely not rocket science.

wasn't this the old paper clip mod? something with paper clip in hole so the head rests can slid back out. I don't remember as it was 8yrs ago I did this mod to my car and haven't looked back since then. Now that this has been brought up....gotta do this to the Artic Avant.

Let me clarify, I wasnt to clear in my first post. I have already swapped the rear headrest to the front seats. I know how the actual front headrests work. The button on them tilts them and the button on the insert hole releases the entire headrest to be removed. My problem is that now I have the rears up front and they will not release in the same manner that the actual front ones do. How can I get them out? They looked great but I am just too tall and cant stand the lack of comfort/saftey of the mod so I want to swap them back. Any help is appreciated. Also kneel, I plan to give the paperclip mod a go once I swap back so they do sit a little lower than normal. It should be a good compromise of aesthetics and safety/comfort. TIA hombres
