DubCenter 2009 Dates Announced!

I just though I would update everyone on the DubCenter 2009 show being set up for next year. The show is in Lincoln, Nebraska (Colorado's armpit) The dates have been set of June 13th and 14th for show and events. There is a new VW dealership in Lincoln that will probably be hosting a BBQ for DC attendees on Saturday night and the show, which is on the grass in a wonderful park on Sunday.

Last year was tons of fun and I plan on going back this year. Right now I am gauging the interest from the Audi community on going out as a huge convoy. In doing this, I am going to set up discounted rates at a local nice hotel for all Colorado members that cruise out with in the EuroBerge convoy.

Going with the plan that we had last year, we would drive out Friday morning, relax Saturday for detailing and such, show on Sunday and drive back Monday morning. The last show, this worked out great and was a great drive. When it came to rooms, some people paid for their own, others teamed up and had 4 to a room to cut costs.

So, I wanna see how many of you are interested in attending this show. Yes, its a ways off, but I need to start getting an idea of how many people soon.

Costs are looking at about $80 a night for a double hotel room, plus cost of gas, and I think $10 entrance fee for the show. If you have any questions, post them up here.


OH....the whole weekend will be covered by the full staff of EuroBerge with possible goodies. :)

Update on the hotels:
I am awaiting a few hotels to get back to me on pricing. I am going to reserve a block of 15 rooms no matter where and the holidays has thrown them into a whack.

For locations, I am looking at specifically two hotels. The Embassy Suites and Holiday Inn- Lincoln Downtown. Both hotels are located in a great area of Lincoln with many great restaurants within walking distance. Embassy Suites has two separate parking garages on the sides that are owned by the city, which are $6 a day. The Holiday Inn has a parking garage attached to its side, and I am unsure of the pricing, but it is a low rate (or was last year when I stayed there). We passed both these hotels as we got into Lincoln.

The advantage of either of these locations is the entertainment and vehicle storage options. Yes, we will be paying a little more per night than last year, but we have peace of mind knowing our cars are protected. When I say a little more, I am still working with them. ES has rooms for $100 a night with regular pricing during that weekend and HI is $145. Again, that is not my negotiated price with them, just their regular rates. I am leaning more towards ES as they seem more willing to work with me on the price (last initial quote before the holidays was $80 a night per room, which is a few more dollars than what we all paid total last year). I know some of you are going to look to stretch your dollar a little more with multiple people in one room, which is 100% fine with me. I am going to look through the rules and prices, but from what I have seen, it shouldnt be an issue just like last year.

I will keep everyone updated. I put a call into them today and am awaiting a return call/email. As I have mentioned before, I will be registering the room block under EuroBerge for everyone.

Yes, and the rates are PER ROOM, not per person. Last year, we had some rooms with 4 people in them to help spread out the price.

I know it is still some time out, but I have already started working on getting a hotel set up for people with a good discount. anybody who is thinking of going, could you post up your feedback on the hotel on this thread. The magazine has to sign the contract by Feb 2nd.
