So i hit a curb the other day and definitely bent one of my left-front-lower control arms. The thing that frustrates me the most is that i wasn't really even going that fast. But yeah... Whats done is done i guess.

So i was wondering if any one could see what all i would have to replace here. And any recommendations on where to get it at. Thanks.

I had to take this with my video camera BTW. And there is a fisheye lens for skateboarding on it.

I hit a curb the other day too...jacked up my rim a little...and damaged the tire on the sidewall....just replaced my tires..and got an alignment..and everything seems fine.....How do you know that your control arm is bent?

    Re: Control Arms

The bottom Trailing one is what gave it away for me. But i can only tell because of how its bent at almost completely 90* angle. i was looking at some new ones and they aren't bent nearly that much. And i'll go take a picture of how far the tire is sitting back in the wheel well. I wish i could just get an alignment and call it good

    Re: Control Arms

on the drivers side, the wheel is sitting way back near the fender. you definately did something to the control arm. if you had some non-wide angle lense photos we might be able to see everything that was bent. all i can see is the lower rear arm on the drivers side looks a little jacked, but that might not be the only one.

    Re: Control Arms

I knew i had it comin. lol. I've only had the car for a couple weeks, and unfortunately, have put quite literally every dime i have into it. And i haven't even made my first payment yet. LOL. And I'm a surveyor so i work outside. Not much i can do with a foot of snow on the ground. So i haven't been working for the past week. but once things get steady i'll be in for some rims and tires.

Been there done that. The only thing that looks off is the obvious one, only way you could really be sure would be to measure them. Make sure to check that your subframe hasnt shifted at all! Looks like a fairly hard hit though. Be glad it bent and not snapped.

    Re: Control Arms

It actually wasn't too bad. I'm not quite used to the turning radius of this car. Its pretty tight. But i was turning around in reverse, and about half-way through the turn i put it in first and started turnin the wheel the other way to straighten it out. i didn't realize i had to turn the wheel one more time around. But i started to go and realized it real quick. So i was close enough to the curb to where hitting the brakes didn't do much. But oh well i guess. lol

So i think i found a set. I can't find a set for just the drivers side, so at this price i think its got my name on it.

    Re: Control Arms

Ok. thanks for opinion. What Do you think about the whole tie rod deal? should they be ok?

And just a random thought, but how much would alignment run me?

    Re: Control Arms

Ok cool. So you guys think that I'll be ok with that control arm itself and an alignment? I really don't wanna but that one, then realize i need my other lower arm, and then something else, and end up having it all add up to the same amount a kit would cost. lol.

And thanks again for all the help.
