Knocking sound when turning

Usually when I'm making a low speed righ hand turn into my driveway (or similar)
Sounds like one 'knock' when turning...almost like somethings binding up.

I have ABT race springs w/sport suspension shocks, BTW.

ive been developing the same noise lately... I flushed the power steering fluid yesterday and it tightened the steering, but didnt help with the noise.

I'd like to know as well. anyone have any ideas?

I think it might be the plastic wheel well liner. Mine does it when it gets cold out.

Also, check/tighten the subframe bolts. I tightened mine up and the sound went away but then it came back because of the fender liners.

CV joint would be clicking while turning and accelerating, and that is many many miles after the grease has shot out everywhere.

Mine does the same thing except its on left turns. I was told that it might be the CV axles -- its going in the shop on Monday the 29th -- so hopefully i'll know for certain by then. -- It sounds like a gallon of milk falling over or sliding - just a "thunk".....

My friend has the same problem in his 01 Jetta VR6. Its a loud knock coming from the rear when he turns slowly.

YES THAT'S THE SOUND I have the same problem and I'm @ 102k mi so I'm looking into tie-rods, control arms, CV joints/axles. I have everything ready to go in except the CV joint/axles. Need more cash.

Ok back from the shop -- the sound is gone. Replaced the steering rack (no idea what that really is ) But I hope that helps someone - My car has an extended warranty & the fix was covered - but it looks like the part was pretty expensive at 600 bucks.

Mine does that clicking noise as well, I checked under the car but for me it was my hotchkis front sway hitting the front skidplate because it's really thick.

sounds reasonable. steering racks are expensive. when they usually fail they leak though . . .

As far as the leak -- the mechanic said the fluid had filled up the "boot" - he poked it with a screwdriver and it started pissing out all the fluid it had accumulated. -- I have a serious love/hate thing with my B6 -- most of the time something is wrong & I hate it but these few (short) stints when everything works -- I really like my car.
