    A couple of questions about B7 2.0T

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am new here and my car is a 07 B7 2.0T CVT FFW.

How much torque can the CVT stand? I heard that the chain is made by LUK, which can stand with even over 400nm. Is it correct and accurate?

Another thing is that I plan to replace my sway bar with H&R front and rear ones. Currently, I am using RS4 rear sway bar and I am not very satisfied with it. What would you guys comment on the H&R sway bar?

    Thank you.

About the CVT, I don't know how much exactly but I wouldn't do other than basic performance mods with it. The CVTs are VERY pricey to fix and most (or all?) performance mods will void the transmission warranty even if you don't touch the tranny.

About the sway bars, do you have coils? Because if your still on your stock suspension the sways are too much for the rear springs.

Thank you. I am currently using PSS9.

No one is certain about how much the CVT tranny can hold ( You should be fine on any stage II ), but you need to have some sort of suspension work done so that the sway bar can shine.
    -Unitronics Stage 2+ ECU/TCU tune.
    -EI AL CAI.
    -Driver Mod.

Thank you. I am planning to get my car upgraded with stage II. Recently, I upgraded my suspension from B12 to PSS9, which is enough for me, I think.

Technically, I don't think it's Christmas day where he is either.

    At least it's Christmas Eve!

    Happy Christmas, everyone!

Oh, and on topic - I have a CVT as well. I've done some searching around the forums and it seems that problems with CVT were more prevalent on the B6 than on the B7. Now this may be because the B6's are just older, but there is at least some evidence that the newer ones are a bit beefier. I would certainly appreciate any additional info.

I know HID has really pushed his!

vincent, what dont you like about the rs4 rear sway bar? i heard it was not a good match for a stock suspension (well i guess it might be ok with pss9) and not for a frontrack anyway.

The Rs4 might be fine for stock sport, but I would definitely worry about using it with the non-sline suspension.

Well, we are ahead of the States for about half a day.

I heard that lots of B6 A4 or A6 (mostly manufactured in 03 or 04) had serious problems with their tranny (CVT) in China. In addition, I was also informed by the dealer that Audi had improved the CVT at the end of 2006. I bought my car at Apr 2007 and heard only one case having problem with CVT (not typical problem and finally audi gave him a new CVT).

I didn't mean I don't like it. It s good on my car for the last 10000km. As I am heading to race my car with friends in Jinggang Race Track in Beijing, I d like to upgrade it with H&R front and rear sway bars. I ve done some research which indicated that the steering will be more accurate with the H&R sway bars accompanying with PSS9. You guys input and comment is welcome.
