So the in-laws have a bunch of dark wood flooring from their kitchen install so I want to do my trunk bad.

I know everyone talks about the wood steering wheels but has anyone actually done it? Any pics floating around?

wow I'm doing it LOL. That settled it. I'm in love. No one has done a steering wheel? I know it's big in the mk3/2 world but I really think the flooring and wheel will work great with the wood trim.

    Bump...

My buddy sent me a wood momo super indy wheel from germany. If I dont throw a Air-bag light I think Im going to keep it. Just ordered a Quick release hub as well.

Is there a DIY for steering wheel removal on here?

    its pretty straight forward.
either remove the key from the ignition, or better yet disconnect the negative post on the battery. theres 2 t-30 torx screws on the back. you will have to rotate the steering wheel to get the proper angle most likely. flex head ratchet and torx sockets help. the screws stay in the wheel, they dont actually come out, so dont spin them forever. once those are done, the air bag assembly pulls off and you have access to the wiring for it. unplug the connector(s) and remove the bag, placing it face up in a safe area. the steering wheel itself is held on by a single triple-square bolt. iirc its a 12. if you dont want an air-bag light, you will most likely have to hook up a resistor or something to fool the module. you may have to remove or modify the clock spring to accomodate the quick release hub, but im not sure. some 1 else may be able to chime in. hope this helps. peace.
