installing 034 motorsports RS4 style inlet pipes problems

Im trying to get them in now and am stuck. Am i supposed to slide the flanged part onto the turbo inlet with the rubber gasket or use a silicone coupler? I've seen ppl do it both ways but Im having trouble sliding it over the inlet. any tips? Ive tried greasing it up but that hasn't really helped I'd hammer it but Im worried about busting shit up.

take a dremel to the inside of the inlet and keep cheching until it fits properly. I think the silicone couplers they give you are for mating the lower inlet with the upper inlet. if you like you can go online and buy a transition silicone hose, cut off part of the inlet that attaches to the turbo inlet and do it that way. you'll cut down the vibration the inlet is sending to the turbo, reducing your chance of failure.

keep that rubber o ring, lube it a bit and jiggle it/slide it into place. once u see that its near the screw whole try screwing it in place which would give ti the extra bit to slide in

Because turbo inlet pipes vibrate more than a turbo that is spinning at tens of thousand of RPMS, and is attached to a running engine?

We test fit every set now on a 2.7T motor that we have in the shop. You don't need to completely bottom out the pipe on the turbo inlet. You just need it to slide snugly over the turbo inlet, so that the o-ring seals.

If you have any fitment issues, feel free to give us a call. We're open tomorrow from 9AM-1PM Pacific Time.

I had no problems fitting the pipe to the turbo with 034. No lube or anything just slid right on.

I got it on the pass side after some finagaling but the driver side will not go on. plus the angle is off a bit on the pass side and it wont turn at all in order to line it up. u guys are open on christmas eve? shitty. I'll prob end up getting a coupler for them anyways.

I guess i worded it worng. Theres a difference when the turbo it self is vibrating on its own, than when the turbo is vibrating and it also has an inlet attached to it vibrating. Over time i can see it causing issues.

I think this pic helps clarify whats going on. Pictures are more fun anyway.

I actually have the GENJDM pipes, which fit without cutting or modification.

DO NOT USE GREASE!!!!!! Look what Tony's Imported Auto in Manchester, CT did to my turbos.

Driver side turbo sucked in the grease throwing the compressor wheel off balance causing it to rub against the housing.

I have inlets from VAST and my mechanic is saying they do not have the hook-ups for air lines. Is that a by-pass? Vast is saying just cup-off the air lines?! Seems weird.. What do you guys advise?
    Thanks...

    a bit lost..

Accordind to my mechanic, the black hose from 2nd picture conects in the circled tube from 1st picture. Where do I cancel them out, since the VAST Inlet does not have the black hose (2nd picture) ?!

    The car is a 2004 A6 2.7T 6 speed manual.
