Xenon Headlamp Replacement

So I finally got a chance to get my car into my brothers shop this past weekend got rid of my old halogen headlights.

I found these Xenon Headlamps on eBay for a decent price

I figured since there was already a great DIY for taking off the bumper to get them removed; I didn't write one up.

Tips; use jack stands and take off the tires, it made getting to the bolts just that much easier. Also having a lift at my expense made things go soo much quicker; so make friends with someone who works in a shop!! haha

I took some during and after pics with the iPhone. Some high res ones soon to come.

After I had got them on and was driving out, the alignment on these fvckers was just awful... tried to do it myself... nope... still way to fvcked up to be satisfied. Luckily I had my 35k maintenance (free, yah!) and just had them do it, they charged me 30 mins... not too bad and now they look great! I'll take a pick of the alignment and post it later this week.

Next is to get the fogs done...

the dealership didnt give you a hard time about having them adjust the aftermarket lights? no warranty issues?

what would the warranty issue be? the dealership does not have the authority to void your warranty. and one single part cannot void the entire warranty of your car. however, if they can somehow prove that the aftermarket headlights caused electrical damage elsewhere, you may be screwed.

Ok, sorry, I'm stupid... You said you had halogen and installed new Xenon Headlamps, here's the stupid question: What came in the box?

Did you already have the xenon "housing"? (or however it's called)

My car has halogens and looks like this

I wonder what I would have to buy to have xenon's/HID...

ok because i did an OEM swap to HIDs and wasn't sure if the dealership would give me a hard time about it if i went to get them aimed.

all dealerships are different... the ones sider got were the DEPO projector headlights with probably pre-installed HID kit... this is why his dealership charged him for the labor.

If you swap from OEM halogen to OEM bi-xenon then you might get away with it because they are stock look doubt they will look up your vin to see what your car was installed with.

yeah, no issues. They just charged me 30 minutes to align them and that was that... Now if a bulb goes, I don't think they'll cover that.

I didn't have the Xenon housing. The parts I purchased were the housing with the halo's already done. They also came with the ballast and ignitor, these weren't mounted on the housing so I had to find a place to mount them. I'll take a few more pics and post them up.
