So last night I go out with my buddy for his sister's birthday to Murphy's on Nuuanu street. Another friend of mine asked me to drive his couple month old lifted Jeep Unlimited since he's in Iraq and wants it to be run a couple times before he gets home. I'm not a huge fan of Jeeps but his is nice enough. So as we drive into the parking lot next to O'Toole's theres a group of young black guys standing there that start yelling at me and my friends. They were obviously trashed and we were sober so we ignored them and walked into Murphy's. A couple hours later we come back outside to the Jeep and they had slashed the windows. Not to break into the vehicle or steal anything (there wasn't anything other than a couple shitty CDs anyway) but just to vandalize a nice vehicle. I wanted to call the police but I thought about it and realized that I was in Hawaii and being a Haole nothin' would get done anyway.

The lack of respect people have for each others property never ceases to amaze me.

Now the next message I get to write to Zack is "Hey dude sorry you are stuck in Iraq. The good news is your Jeep runs great, the bad news is some idiot decided to knife her for no reason. See you in a couple months."

Man. That sucks. At least u decided to ignore them in the first place, 'cause one of those idiots could have tried to use that knife on you. It was a pretty chump ass move to do that after you guys had walked off. They'll get theirs one day. Sad part is, I usually like going to Chinatown to avoid that kind of crap. It's usually a good atmosphere down there, aside from the bums

damn, that really sucks. i tend to stay away from that part of chinatown...usually hang a little further up. i guess it's just a case of the wrong place at the wrong time. like erocko said, good thing they didn't try use that shit on you.

Most likely that group of guys who did it go to that bar, or something probably more than once... how about you go back a couple times in the same jeep?... just a thought...

Dude you should have called the police anyways. if those guys were caught in the future they could have possibly been charged for vandalizing the jeep too. Besides it's Another way to cover your ass if you were to come across them again. The cops won't likely charge you for assault if you have a record of being previously harassed by them.

Had something similar happen to my buddies car. So he filed a police report. The same guys tried to do it again but this time my friend had a few of my other buddies with him. The other guys tried to press charges against my friends for beating them up. The cop just told those idiots it was their stupidity for trying to mess with my friend a second time.

Anyways, you should reconsider the way you think about the police not wanting to help haole's. They are there to do their job regardless of race.

damn dude that sucks, this is exactly why while i'm out here in iraq, my car stays nice and cozy in the garage... the wife drives her once a week to the store ON BASE and back home...

i never understood how people could feel all "big and bad" by doing something as cowardice as fucking with another man's ride when they aren't around... pussies, i hate that shit... anyone down for a cruise down Nuuanu Street when i return?? drive your buddy's jeep (or have him drive if he's back from iraq)

Just to vent too. I just got back tonight from the Aloha Tower area. I walk out to the car around 9pm. I walk up to the car and notice that someone had keyed the driver's side doors in two spots. I couldn't believe it. I work too much too get downtown that much and the one time I make it down there some SOB does this to my baby. Just like someone said, it's a shame that people just don't respect other people's property, something they work hard for.

Anyway...anyone know of a good place to get it checked out/painted?
