Re: Thinking of lowering my car in NYC

I would not recommend a race drop. I'm running coils right now and they're too damn low I am constantly dodging potholes here in Queens. In the next few weeks I am going to "downgrade" to something less aggressive with a sport lowering for the piece of mind. Now that winter is here it is even more important that I do so to avoid my oil pan hitting chunks of ice.

Re: Thinking of lowering my car in NYC

my CPO'd A4's owner was from NYC and the front bumper was pretty beat up. With all the snow we get (I'm in Southern, NH), IMO I wouldn't lower it...

I live in Manhattan and brought my car in from NJ twice. I'm lowered with about a finger gap on all corners and I was scared for my life. :(

Re: Thinking of lowering my car in NYC

My roads are pretty bad in pittsburgh and I'm really low on coilovers. If you want a compromise you can always adjust coils but I do recommend a new suspension for this car no matter what area you live in.

Re: Thinking of lowering my car in NYC

NYC chiming in. I live in midtown and wanted to lower but fear took over. I stuck with Hsport sways and stock sport suspension. I would think coilovers raised a bit higher then one would like would be the best performance to oil pan safety move.
