    Door Locks not working

Well as the description says, i have no door locks. And i don't have a key fob or anything like that. I'm talking interior. My two back locks are stuck down and my front ones only work manually. I Did my searching, so i took apart the central locking deal in the trunk. And it looks as good as new. Any ideas what it could be?

As a kind of side note, i didn't get a keyless entry thing when i bought the car 3 weeks ago. But i'm wondering if it might have an aftermarket lock and remote start on it. I get that feeling because i don't have to push the clutch in to start it. Any opinions on that?

    Thanks for the advice
    -Steve

Edit: Ok i feel semi-handicapped right now. Lol. Maybe i should start by looking at the switch in my door, HUH? All my fuses are good BTW.

    Re: Door Locks not working

i had a 1997 a4 and that one didn't need the clutch to start either so i think thats normal on earlier models... but as far as your locking goes, my first guess would be that one of the vacuum lines for the power locks cracked or something because they are just plastic tubes. does the trunk work with the power locks?

No it doesn't. And i was reading about the vac. lines not being any good, but i kinda ruled that out since I'm not even getting any response from the motor AT ALL.

hmmm, thats odd, i guess your best bet would be to run to an audi junk yard and pull the motor assembly off for a pretty good price. and if that doesn't fix it then you just paid a little to narrow in on the problem so its not a big deal. i wouldn't see them charging any more than $40 for the thing.

    Re: Door Locks not working

Its your central locking pump, I've gone through 3 or 4 of them!! It will look fine, might even make a noise, the imprellers go bad, so the motor will go but no air pressure will go to the lines.

    Re: Door Locks not working

So you think it is the pump itself? ok. It doesn't make any noise at all. Thats why i was thinkin it might be the actual switch on the door. But you guys know more about this stuff than i do, so Thanks
