ive run stock plugs out of the box on APR 1+ with exhaust and test pipe for 40k miles with no problems. I peak 22-23lbs and no blowout.

Don't use those plugs with with APR 1+ I was using the same plug and was having problems with detonation. Go with the NGK BK7RE at a gap of .028, I no longer have any detonation and my car runs much smoother. Plus the plugs are only $1.99 each.

I would go with a colder heat range than the PFR6Q's.....the BKR7E's should be great with a .028 gap

Damn, I just spent like $40 on those plugs, so copper plugs will work just fine on our cars, and also the colder plugs will be fine in Minnesota?

Re: Spark Plug Gap APR 1+

For the cold winters, I would suggest using the NGK BKR6E instead. Ive read that the 7E's can cause some issues on cold startups, and I think I am having the same deal and I live in Cali!! The BKR6Es are similar in price to the 7E I usually purchase mine from Rockauto.com. They are one heat range colder than stock, and worked pretty well on my 1 and 1+ setup.

Gap them to 0.28 because by the time you swtich them out, they will become somewhere around 0.32. WHich means if you kept it out 0.32 from the begining, you will experience a blowout ( which happened to me on stage 1!!!)

you're in Utah and due to the elevation + local temps. my recommendation would be NGK BKR6E gapped @ .028

here in Denver i'm GIAC 1+ and my car ran poorly with the BKR7E plugs. rough idle and low rpm detonation trouble. problems grew worse as the weather became colder.

My BK7RE's seem to be doing great so far, I am at about 4000ft above sea and we have been in the low teens so far this winter. If I notice any issues I will bump up to the BK6RE's. At only 2 bucks a pop and 10 minutes to change, its no biggie. I am very happy I changed to the copper plug!!!

another option is the Bosch F5DP0R. they don't need gapping since they are a side fire plug and these only need changing every 40k miles or so. They have worked well with both my 1+ and K04 setups. I ran them at altitude and sea level and car ran well. APS in Denver recommended these plugs and they use them in alot of turbo cars there.

Is it a problem to be running Iridium plugs that are gapped at 0.028 if you're chipped?
