installed "scratch & ding" podi gauge and pod

First of all idk why its called "scratch and ding" the unit was perfect! The color matches so well with the rest of the cluster(I ordered the white podi gauge). I just have a few questions, when the car starts shud vacum be between ~17 and ~20? Second question is I can't seem to have the gauge completly flush against the pod, It sticks out slightly and I think its due to the hose and/or power cables, is there a way to adjust it? If I press against the pod it goes in all the way but as soon as I release pressure it goes back out slightly.

    are you stock?

all i have is the DIY intake pipe, and i'm idling at around 20-22 in Hg. my max boost is around 12 psi, but it quickly dips down and holds around 10 psi as long as my foot is down.

you can get an "L" adapter for your intake tubing, so that it doesn't stick back as far. didn't yours come with one? i think mine did:

I'm not stock, my mods include FMIC, apr exhaust, carbonio, apr stage 2 software, ecode tp. I do have the L adapter, but when I screw it in it sits to the right not straight down.

I think you'd have to glue the gauge in to keep it from pressing back out. Mine does that too, a little bit.

Re: installed "scratch & ding" podi gauge and pod

The opening of the pod is 52mm in size but due to how quickly/slowly the plastic cools the opening can be just a bit too big or too small.

If it is too big take a small piece of black electrical tape and stick it on bottom the body of the gauge behind the black bezel.

Then insert the gauge by twisting it in and the tape will help wedge the gauge into place and hold it there. It will provide enough friction to allow you to adjust the position as well.

for the "L" adapter, grab a little roll of teflon tape from the hardware store. put enough on so that it wraps around the threads at least 1 and a half times. make sure you stretch it around the threads so that it's tight. you can put a little more than 1 1/2 rotations, but then it gets harder to thread. make sure that the inlet hole isn't blocked by extra tape.

it will be tight enough that you don't have to thread the fitting on all the way, and you can set it up so that it goes straight down.

use the rest of the teflon tape around the house. fix some leaky faucets or shower heads.
