A4 2003 Tip, 70 000 miles, i will flush the Torque Converter and change my filtrer.

right now my trany is banging when it time to put it in reverse and sometime between shifting.

so, any one use this kind of oil ?

second question; do the dextron 3 lubricate the frond diff or the transfer case ? or they have there specific oil. if they get there specific oil, is it some 80-90 ? like the rear diff ?

i will change everything in the same time.

NO go to the dealer and get the ATF I know its expensive but its worth it. I hope you have read up on how to change the ATF in the tip. its not easy my friend.

no local transmission specialist can do it !

i just try to find if it possible to flush the ATF oil in the TC without the pump (machine) ?

not that I am aware of. you could try some compressed fluid flush. take the lines off the radiator and flush that way

if you do a full flush you can use D3 (20,000KM no issues here). generally its not a good idea to mix the dealers fluid with anything else, may be heresay but i'm not going to put it to the test.

I got lots of pictures from when i flushed it myself, if you have MSN, PM me and i'll send you the pics and give you a rundown of how to do it. but if its banging into gear its generally a sign the tranny is about to fail anyway(provided the bang isn't caused by a broken mount or something), but a fluid change can't hurt.

ok, few update.

i send my car to an audi/volks garage.

they check with the vag com and no check engine aout my trany. the fluid level is perfect and she is not leaking no where.

so, the told me to try some WindsExtend trany (keeper) fluid for 20$. so i try it.

they don't thing about change my trany oil will resolve my trouble. is king of mecanic problem. anyway. this damn oil was almost black ... the car got 65 000 milles and audi told me this trany oil is good forever ! yea right !

for noy the car will stay like this, and this spring i will try to flush it, change filtrer and see what happen.

Redline D4 ATF is compatible with that transmission and Redline 75w90 is compatible for the center and rear differentials. Hope the transmission flush helps your bucking condition otherwise it could need an updated input shaft and clutch discs or dare I say.... transmission. A qualified Audi mechanic should be able to diagnose your issue with the use of a VAGCOM tool and technical service bulletin information.

Pentosin ATF-1 fluid is on the approved fluids listing from ZF, and is an alternative to the Audi OEM fluid. Draining the pan and changing the filter is better than not changing the fluid at all. Do that a couple of times and practically all the fluid will be changed.

actually, i think your issue is line pressure. the piston to control line pressure wears out in the valve body and causes slow reverse gear, inconsistent shifting and B-clutch failure.

what he said. i have not done my fluid yet and i have 130K on the clock. I want to change the fluid and actually have everything to do it including the machine...however with that milege I wll be doing more harm then good. So I'm just going to wait for it to blow up and rebuild
