stock suspension vs. neuspeed sport / bilstein

YESS!! Today is the day! I have been looking at these springs/shocks sitting in my living room for farrr too long and its been driving me nuts seeing them sitting there and not having them on them on the car. And it makes it especially rough seeing everyone else post pictures of their set ups and then going outside to see my 4x4 audi that bounces all over the highway.

But now I am finally having them installed during my lunch break. This is pretty much my first mod done to the car so i am thrilled to see how the car handles and looks. I feel like todays my birthday and im 9 lol. I could barly even sleep last night... hah

I already have some before pics and later I will take some after shots. I will also take before and after measurments to see how much the drop actually was. Ill post all that either later today or first thing tomorrow...

*edit* ok so this obviously took me longer than expected.. bunch of sob stories.. so and so is sick, so and so is outta town.. blah blah blah.. i literally made like 5 different appointments and had them all blown off. i would have walked and gone elsewhere but i know the guy doing it and he only charged me $160 so its kinda hard to walk away from that.

This is my first time driving a car with an upgraded suspension so I cant really give out a great first impression yet because I dont have much to compare it to. I have a nice almost 90* turn by my house so I was tearing that up a bit after I got my car back. The car handles great!. Its night and day from before. I used to slide allll over my seat when hitting that turn but the car is much more stable now. I can feel a little more of the road when driving which I like. Im glad I got rid of that boat feel the car used to have and it definitely feels more sporty now and drives like a sports car should. I'v only driven it like 20 miles so far but so far it feels amazing.

So sure it feels good, but it looks fucking amazing!! I couldnt be any happier. It looks soo much more aggressive and sportier. OK enough with writing all this crap that no one is reading and on to the pictures!...

blah im pretty pissed... guy doing my install today is sick with the flu so it looks like i have to wait until friday. im so mad because i was really excited but oh well. theres not much i can really do or complain about since hes doing the entire job for only $160.

but i'll put together a nice review with pics and measurments on friday for sure

Congrats dude, now you can join me in shouting from the rooftops in every thread it's relevent to about how much better a new suspension feels. Yours and mine look pretty much identical in ride-height, and from the sound of things the improvement in handling/cornering is there too.

Big two for finally gettin' them out of your living room and on the car!

PS - God damn, those first pics remind me of just how bad the gap was before.........I may have nightmares about it now!

Hey Bllzll, let me know if you notice the car "sitting" a little more as it gets adjusted to the new setup.

I might go this route since I'm trying to make a budget right now :-)

On you car made a great difference, and it looks really good. I'm just not sure how much of a difference it would make on the OEM sports suspension.

going from 4x4 to this, it honestly feels like i just bought a brand new car. everytime i look at it im in shock how dramatically different it looks. its incredible.

heres a pic i found of another user that has neuspeed sport springs and 18" wheels.



as you can see its a dramatic difference over OEM sport. maybe its just hard to tell since i only have 17" wheels and my picture isnt great. in my picture, because of the shadow its hard to tell where the tire ends and how much of that is actually gap. i can only put barly one finger under each wheel. that picture above you can tell its definitely lower than sline without a doubt. i was also at the dealership earlier and parked next to an s-line and it was a very noticable difference as well.

i will try and take some better pictures maybe later today.. and i'll try to stick a lighter or something colorful between the tire and the fender so you can see how big the gap actually is

If you can take me at my word, it definitely looks lower - I have a similar shock/spring setup that looks pretty much identical to Bllzll's, and I've parked next to a random S-line or two just to see.

Not to mention, I'd love to see stock sport keep up with us on the twisties.......in the wise words of Chris Berman........WWWWWHOOP!

btw Bllzll, Ive heard a set of 15mm spacers on just our rear wheels can be a good tie-over until we get new rims - pushes out the back wheels for a beefier look.

One question - I think I've heard its a good idea to get an alignment done after the suspension settles; around a month+ after the initial install. Can anyone chime in here?

yeah i have been looking into spacers... from the pictures i have seen i might go with 10mm front and 12mm rear.. .15 IMO just looks like a really tiny tire just wayy too pushed out.. i dono i just thought it looked kinda weird

as far as when to get the alignment i have heard conflicting answers.. some say do it right away.. others say wait a bit.. i will probably take both answers and just wait two weeks or so

Hah, so did I - money is tight for me with bills for christmas presents n such (bought the gf a diamond bracelet, gulp!), so I may either wait or just save that and put it towards new wheels entirely.
