    Re: boost gauge

I myself have a VDO and bought a red LED wedge light. The VDO kit comes with a white bulb and some crappy red condom to place over the bulb to make it red.

Not too posotive, but I think I ordered the one that is listed as "WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb" in Red, if you scroll down on the page provided. Maybe another can chimme in to confirm that is the correct bulb.

He has a website, I just can not recall the adress. Send him a PM and he can help you out. But posted above is the route I took. Though, that was before Winston really got his business going. I would have more than likely gone with him if not the DIY vent gauge.

glow shift makes some that you can mount just about anywhere..or awe has a nice one, but it mounts in the vent.

    Re: boost gauge

I just got one from AWE tuning... It comes with everything, including mounting directions, all the screws, just everything to get from the gauge to the battery to the boost line...

Its got the red lighting too... Hopefully I will get it sometime soon...

    Autometer with led bulb (Berfore)
Stewart Warner with Autometer led bulb (Current) I love the Stewart Warner gauge. The color match is very close to the dash lights.

    Re: boost gauge

The Stweart Warner gauge looks good but that is still one red LED doing the job.

My new mechanical gauge uses 7 LEDs for the dial and one for the needle for night time illumination.

Does it match your lighting? I offer a money back guarantee that you'll be happy. Anyone else back up their products the same?

I forgot to mentioned that my pod is a replacement piece for your OEM column cover compared to the other options out there which you stick on top of your column cover.

AWE or Podi. I have the awe gauge and i love it, looks good in the center vent and the lights match perfectly. Not to mention the face of the gauge also looks very finished and fits well with the interior.

Well if you choose red and shut your car off and come back to it and start it the next day it will be saved on red...so you don't have to go through switching of colors every time you start your car, it saves your preference.

I'm not sure if you were saying that you have to click the button to get the color you want everyday or just saying that's how you change colors on it.

    Re: boost gauge

New South Performance TriLED's. They're a couple bucks and don't get hot like a standard bulb does = less failure rate. The pic I posted doesn't show up well(because of the direct sunlight), but they're as close to perfect as you can w/o buying VDO gauges.

... and I'd stay away from Glowshift, I've used them and I don't personally like them.

That's the downside. If you hook up to the wrong power source everytime you turn the car on it shows up a different color.

The one thing I do think is nice about those is the tinted glass option. So when the backlight is off, you can't read anything about the gauge... like your friends will be less likely to mock you for buying cheap gauges.
