No Go B6

Car: 2003 A4 1.8t auto tranny
Lastnight i took my sisters car to the bar when it was about 5 deg out side. car was parked in the driveway so it was very cold. i turned it on and it started just fine. i let the car idle for about 1 minute before i tried to back out of the drive way. after that i gave it some gas and nothing happened. i even floored it and nothing happened. the rpm's didnt move nor did the car. o ya im in reverse. so i figure it just really cold. so i wait another 5 minutes and try it again. still nothing happened when i would give it gas. so wait another 5 minutes, this is about 11 minutes total waiting time. finaly after 11 minutes it goes up the driveway very slowly, put it in drive and try to go but its very very slow. wait another 5 minutes in the street. then the temp gets off cold and the car starts to act normal. i drive it around for 20 minutes to get all the oils up to operating temp and then go to the bars. after i got out the same thing was happening although not as bad. is it just really cold out and newer a4's have some weird program in the ecu or what. this never happened to my b5 and i let it sit outside even when it was below freezing. any ideas whats up?
The next night same thing happened. the cel is not on and it drive just fine once warmed up.

time to put a third pedal in the car... j/k

try to change the tranny fluid and flush the system before you put new fluid in. see that helps

ya its my sisters car so cant add a 3rd pedal. problem is im up in the mountains and cant do any work on it

it needs a tranny service, fluid an filter for sure!

-update
just needed a new battery. the old one couldn't supply enough power to the throttle body to open and that's why after 11 minutes of waiting it was powerful enough to work right. also this fixed the gauges problem, apparently they were not getting enough power just after start up to work, the gas gauge would stay on E for a while. replaced the battery and all is fixed now. who would of though?
