trans swap.?

so i did some searching but couldn't find the answer. I found a lot about swapping 2.8 trans into a b6 but what i am wondering is.. is it possible to swap a 6speed from a usp or s4 into my a4 which has a 5 speed and if so what is involved?

you need a 6spd from B7 A4 to match the rear diff, or change the rear diff to 4.11

6th in a B6 is same as 5th in 2.8

correction..

All this to hold onto the shorter 1-5 gears and add an overdrive gear.

The bad part is a used V8S4 6 speed is about 4-5k.
