boost questions??

I recently purchased a 99 A4 avant 1.8t for my winter car. With no intensions of moding it I reacently purchased:

EPL Chip-installed
Boost Gage-installed
Torbosmart MBC-installed
Testpipe- not installed
710n-waiting install
Slotted roters with Hawk HPS pads-waiting install

When i first picked up the car from EPL i was boosting at 10psi in the lower gears and 15 in forth and fifth. The car was much slower than my friends a4 with a nuesspeed chip and exhaust. I purchased the MBC in order to boost higher in lower gears and increase some top end psi. I read numerous posts about guys boost at anywhere between 18-21psi. Anyway i turned the boost up a little and now the boost is more constitant but still only 15psi. The questions i have are:

How can i increase boost to 18-19 psi with my current chip?

Will installing a N75 race solve my problem?

Does anyone have a EPL chipped car? I have a custum tune from them on my stage 3 s4 and it is insane.

European Performance Labs, i guess they are not that popular with the A4 crowd but one of the best in the S4 crowd.

Guess not modding it didn't go so well. That you you bought it that way.

Will installing a N75 race solve my problem?

If you are using a MBC, you do not need the stock N75 or a new N75. Just loop the lines on the N75 and pull it out of the mix.

Not sure about your other question on whether or not the chip can support 19 psi. I would call them to see what they say because if they say it's meant for 15 psi then I would keep it there unless you log your car and find that it will go higher for some reason.

Also, I'm assuming you already checked for boost leak(s) right?

Perhaps get either the 710 installed or get a piston type diverter valve. Maybe yours can't hold any higher than 15 psi. Worth checking into, mine was shot stock so I was only holding around 5 psi, now I can hold the whopping stock 8-10 psi...

I bought the car stock and im already looking at BT. Crazy i cant help myself. Anyway would like to see 18-20psi can i do this with my mbc? I will call EPL when the car is running. Can i increase my mas boost pressure with a MBC?

lol, I know the feeling. And yes, you can put the boost to whatever you want with the MBC but keep in mind that putting the boost up that high when your chip may only support 15 psi is a great way to start a motor build... since you run the risk of making a nice window in your block.

Just replace the N75 with the MBC and you will be able to set it where you need to.
