Is this a job that can easily be done? Audi dealership told me my canister was cracked, and needs to get replaced. Quoting me about $600 cdn for parts and labour.

First of all anyone know where I can find one? Searched most of the usual sites but couldn't find.

Try some junkyards to find a used one, i believe that A4's and passats EVAP canister will work. It's pretty simple if you try replacing it yourself.

very easy. Three nuts hold the cover on and I think they go on the stud that hold the canister on. then two hoses and you're done. I have a good used one from my 2000 parts car if interested? e-mail me if you're looking- ttavaglione at hotmail dot com
